Journaliste pour la cha\u00eene de\u00a0<\/strong>t\u00e9l\u00e9vision panarabe al-Jazeera, Shireen Abu Akleh\u00a0\u00e9tait une reporter palestinienne de renom, salu\u00e9e pour son courage et son professionalisme.\u00a0N\u00e9e en 1971 dans une famille chr\u00e9tienne\u00a0d\u2019El-Qods-Est occup\u00e9, cette Palestinienne, qui d\u00e9tenait \u00e9galement la citoyennet\u00e9 am\u00e9ricaine, avait \u00e9tudi\u00e9 le journalisme \u00e0 l’universit\u00e9 Yarmouk en Jordanie avant de cofonder la radio \u00ab\u00a0Voix de Palestine\u00a0\u00bb bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Ramallah.\u00a0\u00a0Elle avait rejoint en 1997 al-Jazeera, un an apr\u00e8s le lancement de la cha\u00eene dont elle est devenue une des reporters stars.\u00a0Pour Hoda Abdel-Hamid, une de ses coll\u00e8gues jointe par t\u00e9l\u00e9phone par l’AFP , \u00ab\u00a0elle \u00e9tait assur\u00e9ment une journaliste tr\u00e8s courageuse\u00a0\u00bb.\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0Je lui demandais, ‘tu ne te fatigues donc jamais?’ Elle \u00e9tait toujours l\u00e0, d\u00e8s qu’il se passait quelque chose. Elle osait beaucoup plus que moi. (…) Mais c’\u00e9tait aussi une journaliste tr\u00e8s exp\u00e9riment\u00e9e, pas du genre \u00e0 prendre des risques stupides juste histoire d’en prendre.\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0\u00a0Dans une interview r\u00e9cente avec une agence de presse locale, Shireen Abu Akleh ne cachait pas avoir fr\u00e9quemment peur lorsqu’elle \u00e9tait sur le terrain. \u00ab\u00a0Je cherche un endroit s\u00fbr o\u00f9 me tenir et cherche une fa\u00e7on de prot\u00e9ger mon \u00e9quipe avant de me pr\u00e9occuper des images\u00a0\u00bb, confiait cette journaliste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plus t\u00f4t cette ann\u00e9e, la journaliste avait \u00e9crit dans la revue \u00ab\u00a0Cette semaine en Palestine\u00a0\u00bb que J\u00e9nine ne repr\u00e9sentait pas \u00ab\u00a0une histoire \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re dans (sa) carri\u00e8re ni m\u00eame dans (sa) vie personnelle\u00a0\u00bb.\u00a0\u00bbC’est la ville qui peut \u00e9lever ma morale\u00a0\u00bb, affirmait-elle, car J\u00e9nine \u00ab\u00a0incarne l’esprit palestinien qui parfois tremble et tombe mais, au-del\u00e0 de toute attente, s’\u00e9l\u00e8ve pour poursuivre ses combats et ses r\u00eaves\u00a0\u00bb. Ayant couvert le conflit isra\u00e9lo-palestinien pendant deux d\u00e9cennies, elle \u00e9tait une ic\u00f4ne pour nombre de Palestiniens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aux yeux de son confr\u00e8re Mohammad Daraghmeh, \u00e9galement un de ses amis proches, elle \u00e9tait \u00ab\u00a0l’une des journalistes les plus fortes du monde arabe\u00a0\u00bb. Elle \u00ab\u00a0\u00e9tait l’une des premi\u00e8res femmes arabes \u00e0 \u00eatre correspondante de guerre \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1990, lorsque le r\u00f4le traditionnel des femmes \u00e0 la t\u00e9l\u00e9vision \u00e9tait de pr\u00e9senter (les informations) dans un studio\u00a0\u00bb, a soulign\u00e9 sur Twitter Dima Khatib, une autre journaliste d’al-Jazeera, qualifiant sa coll\u00e8gue de \u00ab\u00a0pionni\u00e8re\u00a0\u00bb.  \u00ab\u00a0Shireen \u00e9tait une journaliste courageuse, gentille, dot\u00e9e d’une grande int\u00e9grit\u00e9, et avec laquelle des millions de Palestiniens et moi avons grandi en la regardant\u00a0\u00bb, a salu\u00e9 Fadi Quran, l’un des directeurs d’Avaaz, une ONG bas\u00e9e aux Etats-Unis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
