Chaque ann\u00e9e, la Journ\u00e9e internationale Nelson-Mandela rappelle au monde que chacun, \u00e0 son niveau, peut agir et inspirer le changement autour de lui.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le monde c\u00e9l\u00e8bre aujourd\u2019hui la Journ\u00e9e internationale Nelson-Mandela, afin de comm\u00e9morer le combat de cette figure embl\u00e9matique de la lutte anti-apartheid et premier pr\u00e9sident noir d’Afrique du Sud. Cette journ\u00e9e, c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9e le 18 juillet de chaque ann\u00e9e, correspond \u00e0 l’anniversaire de Nelson Mandela. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 proclam\u00e9e en novembre 2009 sur une r\u00e9solution de l’Assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des Nations unies. Cette r\u00e9solution est une reconnaissance de la lutte del\u2019ex-pr\u00e9sident sud-africain a pour la d\u00e9mocratie et \u00e0 la promotion de la culture de paix et de libert\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle internationale. Ainsi, chaque citoyen du monde est appel\u00e9 \u00e0 consacrer symboliquement soixante-sept minutes de son temps \u00e0 une \u0153uvre au service de la collectivit\u00e9, en m\u00e9moire des soixante-sept ann\u00e9es que Mandela a vou\u00e9es \u00e0 sa lutte pour la justice sociale, l’\u00e9galit\u00e9, la r\u00e9conciliation et la diversit\u00e9 culturelle. Chaque ann\u00e9e, la Journ\u00e9e internationale Nelson-Mandela rappelle au monde que chacun, \u00e0 son niveau, peut agir et inspirer le changement autour de lui. Chacun a la possibilit\u00e9 et la responsabilit\u00e9 de changer le monde pour le rendre meilleur. En d\u00e9cembre 2015, l’Assembl\u00e9e g\u00e9n\u00e9rale des Nations unies a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d’\u00e9tendre la port\u00e9e de la Journ\u00e9e internationale Nelson-Mandela afin de \u00ab\u00a0promouvoir des conditions de d\u00e9tention humaines et sensibiliser l’opinion au fait que les d\u00e9tenus continuent de faire partie de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9, ainsi qu’\u00e0 reconna\u00eetre l’importance particuli\u00e8re du travail social accompli par le personnel p\u00e9nitentiaire\u00a0\u00bb. A travers une nouvelle r\u00e9solution, elle a non seulement adopt\u00e9 l’ensemble minima des Nations unies pour le traitement des d\u00e9tenus sous sa forme r\u00e9vis\u00e9e, mais a \u00e9galement approuv\u00e9 sa d\u00e9nomination \u00ab\u00a0R\u00e8gles Nelson-Mandela\u00a0\u00bb pour rendre hommage \u00e0 l’oeuvre accomplie par l’ancien pr\u00e9sident sud-africain qui, du fait de son combat mondial en faveur des droits de l’Homme, de l’\u00e9galit\u00e9, de la d\u00e9mocratie et de la promotion d’une culture de paix, a pass\u00e9 27 de sa vie en prison. Apr\u00e8s 27 ans de d\u00e9tention, Mandela a \u00e9t\u00e9 lib\u00e9r\u00e9 en f\u00e9vrier 1990 lorsque la pression nationale et internationale croissante a conduit les dirigeants d\u2019alors \u00e0 commencer \u00e0 d\u00e9manteler l’apartheid et \u00e0 lever l’interdiction de l\u2019ANC. D\u00e8s qu’il a recouvr\u00e9 sa libert\u00e9, Mandela est retourn\u00e9 \u00e0 l’activit\u00e9 politique et a dirig\u00e9 l’ANC dans ses n\u00e9gociations pour mettre fin \u00e0 l’apartheid et \u00e9tablir un nouveau gouvernement multiracial et s’est rendu \u00e0 New York en juin de la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, en tant que vice-pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019ANC pour s’adresser au Comit\u00e9 sp\u00e9cial contre l’apartheid de l’AG de l\u2019ONU. Son travail inlassable a valu \u00e0 Nelson Mandela le prix Nobel de la paix 1993, qu’il a partag\u00e9 avec l\u2019ancien pr\u00e9sident sud-africain Frederik de Klerk. Un an plus tard, l\u2019ANC a remport\u00e9 les premi\u00e8res \u00e9lections libres et multiraciales du pays avec une large majorit\u00e9, et Mandela est devenu le premier pr\u00e9sident d\u00e9mocratiquement \u00e9lu d’Afrique du sud. En 1999, Mandela a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de se retirer de la vie politique, bien qu’il ait continu\u00e9 \u00e0 d\u00e9fendre la paix, la justice sociale et les droits de l’Homme jusqu’\u00e0 sa mort en d\u00e9cembre 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une relation particuli\u00e8re avec l\u2019Alg\u00e9rie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nelson Mandela avait une relation particuli\u00e8re et des liens \u00ab\u00a0tr\u00e8s \u00e9troits\u00a0\u00bb avec l’Alg\u00e9rie, sa seconde patrie, l’ancien pr\u00e9sident sud-africain ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s impr\u00e9gn\u00e9 de l’histoire de la r\u00e9sistance alg\u00e9rienne contre le colonialisme fran\u00e7ais, dont il s’est beaucoup inspir\u00e9 dans sa lutte contre le r\u00e9gime de l’apartheid dans son pays. \u00ab\u00a0C’est l’Alg\u00e9rie qui a fait de moi un Homme\u00a0\u00bb. Ainsi parlait cette figure de proue de la lutte anti-apartheid et premier pr\u00e9sident noir d’Afrique du Sud, pour t\u00e9moigner d\u2019une gratitude \u00e9ternelle en direction du pays qui l\u2019a accueilli et entra\u00een\u00e9 entre 1961 et 1962. C\u2019est dire que la relation qui liait Nelson Mandela, connu \u00e9galement sous le nom de \u00ab\u00a0Madiba\u00a0\u00bb (1918-2013) \u00e0 l’Alg\u00e9rie, \u00e9tait intime, presque fusionnelle, selon des analystes. Ce n\u2019est pas un hasard, si Nelson Mandela, lib\u00e9r\u00e9 de prison en f\u00e9vrier 1990, apr\u00e8s avoir pass\u00e9 27 ans dans les ge\u00f4les de l\u2019apartheid, ait consacr\u00e9 sa premi\u00e8re visite \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tranger pour l\u2019Alg\u00e9rie. Ainsi, c\u2019est en mai 1990, que Mandela foule pour la seconde fois le sol alg\u00e9rien, pour \u00eatre accueilli par le chef de la diplomatie de l\u2019\u00e9poque, Sid Ahmed Ghozali. Lors de sa premi\u00e8re visite en Alg\u00e9rie, Nelson Mandela a \u00e9t\u00e9 accueilli triomphalement \u00e0 la Coupole du complexe Mohamed-Boudiaf par le secr\u00e9taire g\u00e9n\u00e9ral du Front de lib\u00e9ration nationale (FLN), feu Abdelhamid Mehri. Le futur pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019Afrique du Sud post-apartheid a eu des mots qui t\u00e9moignent d\u2019une gratitude \u00e9ternelle en direction de l\u2019Alg\u00e9rie: \u00ab\u00a0Je suis le premier Sud-africain \u00e0 avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 entra\u00een\u00e9 aux armes en Alg\u00e9rie. Quand je suis rentr\u00e9 dans mon pays pour affronter l\u2019apartheid, je me suis senti plus fort\u00a0\u00bb, avait-il dit.Et d\u2019ajouter: \u00ab\u00a0C\u2019est l\u2019Alg\u00e9rie qui a fait de moi un homme\u00a0\u00bb. Une sensation immortalis\u00e9e par \u00ab\u00a0Madiba\u00a0\u00bb au Sanctuaire des Martyrs \u00e0 Alger, qui a pos\u00e9 le poing lev\u00e9 vers le ciel en signe de victoire dans la lutte commune des deux peuples pour leur libert\u00e9, contre le colonialisme et contre l\u2019apartheid. Et cette lutte commune remonte \u00e0 avant l\u2019ind\u00e9pendance de l\u2019Alg\u00e9rie, en 1961 pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019ancien ambassadeur d\u2019Alg\u00e9rie en Afrique du Sud, Nourredine Djoudi, qui fut l\u2019interpr\u00e8te de Mandela en 1962, se souvient de cette visite historique. \u00ab\u00a0Mandela a \u00e9t\u00e9 impressionn\u00e9 par la R\u00e9volution alg\u00e9rienne et \u00e9tait venu en Alg\u00e9rie pour s’en impr\u00e9gner, eu \u00e9gard aux similarit\u00e9s entre les deux pays, telles que la discrimination raciale dont souffraient les Sud-africains et les Alg\u00e9riens\u00a0\u00bb, a ainsi d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M. Djoudi lors du \u00ab\u00a0Forum de la m\u00e9moire\u00a0\u00bb sur \u00ab\u00a0Nelson Mandela et la Guerre de lib\u00e9ration nationale\u00a0\u00bb, organis\u00e9 mercredi dernier \u00e0 Alger \u00e0 l’occasion de la \u00ab\u00a0Journ\u00e9e internationale Nelson-Mandela\u00a0\u00bb. Pour Mandela, l’Alg\u00e9rie \u00e9tait une source d’inspiration tant sur le plan militaire que diplomatique. Il s’en \u00e9tait impr\u00e9gn\u00e9 dans sa lutte anti-apartheid, a encore soulign\u00e9 le moudjahid et diplomate alg\u00e9rien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans ses m\u00e9moires intitul\u00e9es \u00ab\u00a0Le long chemin vers la libert\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb, le d\u00e9funt Mandela soutenait que la R\u00e9volution alg\u00e9rienne a repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une \u00ab\u00a0inspiration particuli\u00e8re\u00a0\u00bb pour lui, dans le sens o\u00f9 elle a constitu\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0le mod\u00e8le le plus proche du n\u00f4tre, parce que les Moudjahidine alg\u00e9riens affrontaient une importante communaut\u00e9 de colons blancs qui r\u00e9gnait sur la majorit\u00e9 indig\u00e8ne\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
