L’Inde a impos\u00e9 un prix minimum \u00e0 l’exportation de 1200 dollars la tonne sur le riz basmati, a annonc\u00e9 dimanche le gouvernement dans un communiqu\u00e9. Ce pays d’Asie du sud avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 interdit en juillet dernier les exportations de riz blanc non basmati et a impos\u00e9 vendredi des droits de douanes de 20% sur les exportations de riz \u00e9tuv\u00e9. Mais apr\u00e8s l’interdiction, certains commer\u00e7ants ont class\u00e9 le riz blanc non basmati comme basmati pour contourner les restriction \u00e0 l’exportation, a indiqu\u00e9 le gouvernement dans un communiqu\u00e9. L\u2019Inde et le Pakistan cultivent exclusivement du riz basmati aromatique de premi\u00e8re qualit\u00e9. L’Inde exp\u00e9die environ 4 millions de tonnes de riz basmati vers des pays comme l’Iran, l’Irak, le Y\u00e9men, l’Arabie saoudite, les Emirats arabes unis et les Etats-Unis. Fin juillet, l’Inde, premier exportateur mondial, avec 40% de parts de march\u00e9, a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de limiter ses \u00e9changes. Le riz blanc non basmati ne peut plus \u00eatre export\u00e9. Objectif : stabiliser les prix de cet aliment dans le pays, qui a pris 11% en un an.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il y a aussi la Tha\u00eflande, le deuxi\u00e8me exportateur de riz dans le monde. Depuis le d\u00e9but de l’ann\u00e9e, le pays fait face \u00e0 la s\u00e9cheresse, jusqu’\u00e0 moins 40% de pr\u00e9cipitations. L\u2019Inde a suspendu ses exportations en raison de la s\u00e9cheresse qui menace les r\u00e9coltes et ses approvisionnements. Une d\u00e9cision qui a induit une hausse des prix du riz sur les march\u00e9s internationaux et qui ont connu un plus haut depuis 15 ans. D\u00e9but ao\u00fbt les cours du riz ont atteint pr\u00e8s de 650 dollars la tonne de riz tha\u00ef, la r\u00e9f\u00e9rence asiatique, sur le march\u00e9 mondial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
