Le commandant du Commandement militaire am\u00e9ricain pour l’Afrique (AFRICOM), le <\/strong>g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d’arm\u00e9e Michael Langley, a soulign\u00e9 hier -, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion d\u2019une visite \u00e0 Alger le r\u00f4le centrale de l\u2019Alg\u00e9rie dans la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et la stabilit\u00e9 r\u00e9gionales. A l\u2019issue d\u2019une audience avec le pr\u00e9sident de la R\u00e9publique Abdelmadjid Tebboune, en pr\u00e9sence du g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d’arm\u00e9e Said Chengriha, du directeur du cabinet de la pr\u00e9sidence Boualem Boualem, et du conseiller pr\u00e9sidentiel charg\u00e9 des affaires de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et de d\u00e9fense, Boumediene Benattou, le commandant de l’AFRICOM a livr\u00e9 une \u00e9valuation claire du r\u00f4le de l\u2019Alg\u00e9rie, \u00a0\u00bb un pays leader dans la r\u00e9gion, toutes les autres nations b\u00e9n\u00e9ficieront de ce leadership.\u00a0\u00bb Une d\u00e9claration qui reconna\u00eet explicitement le r\u00f4le central d’Alger dans la stabilit\u00e9 r\u00e9gionale. Il a poursuivi en d\u00e9clarant : \u00ab\u00a0Ensemble, les \u00c9tats-Unis et l\u2019Alg\u00e9rie prosp\u00e9reront et continueront \u00e0 assurer la protection et la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des populations.\u00a0\u00bb Le commandant de l’AFRICOM a d\u2019ailleurs mis en avant les liens historiques et profonds entre les deux nations, soulignant que ces relations sont \u00ab\u00a0empreintes de respect mutuel et fond\u00e9es sur des int\u00e9r\u00eats communs en mati\u00e8re de stabilit\u00e9 et de s\u00e9curit\u00e9.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dans ce contexte, il a \u00e9voqu\u00e9 le m\u00e9morandum d\u2019entente dans le domaine militaire, sign\u00e9 en collaboration avec le ministre d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9 aupr\u00e8s du ministre de la D\u00e9fense nationale, chef d\u2019\u00e9tat-major de l\u2019Arm\u00e9e nationale populaire, le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d\u2019arm\u00e9e Sa\u00efd Chengriha. \u00c0 propos de cet accord, il a affirm\u00e9 qu\u2019il jette les bases de tous les objectifs s\u00e9curitaires communs construits entre les deux pays depuis des ann\u00e9es, permettant ainsi un approfondissement de cette relation en vue de renforcer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et la paix r\u00e9gionales et internationales. En effet, le commandant de l\u2019AFRICOM s\u2019est auparavant entretenu avec le ministre d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9 aupr\u00e8s du ministre de la D\u00e9fense nationale et Chef d\u2019\u00c9tat-major de l\u2019ANP, le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d’arm\u00e9e Said Chengriha. Des entretiens qui ont abouti \u00e0 la signature d\u2019un M\u00e9morandum d’entente entre le Minist\u00e8re alg\u00e9rien de la D\u00e9fense Nationale et le D\u00e9partement am\u00e9ricain de la D\u00e9fense qui renforce la position de l’Alg\u00e9rie comme pivot r\u00e9gional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral d’arm\u00e9e Said Chengriha a d\u2019ailleurs dress\u00e9 un bilan positif de la coop\u00e9ration bilat\u00e9rale : \u00ab\u00a0Le partenariat entre les deux pays conna\u00eet une progression remarquable, particuli\u00e8rement dans les domaines de la d\u00e9fense et de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9.\u00a0\u00bb Le chef d’\u00e9tat-major de l’ANP a soulign\u00e9 l’importance d’une approche fond\u00e9e sur \u00ab\u00a0la rationalit\u00e9, le pragmatisme et le dialogue constructif.\u00a0\u00bb Cette intensification de la coop\u00e9ration s\u00e9curitaire survient dans un contexte marqu\u00e9 par le succ\u00e8s r\u00e9cent des services alg\u00e9riens dans la lib\u00e9ration d’un otage espagnol dans la zone frontali\u00e8re alg\u00e9ro-malienne. Une op\u00e9ration qui d\u00e9montre concr\u00e8tement l’efficacit\u00e9 des capacit\u00e9s antiterroristes alg\u00e9riennes. Le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Langley a d’ailleurs particuli\u00e8rement salu\u00e9 ce type d’interventions, affirmant que \u00ab\u00a0ensemble, les \u00c9tats-Unis et l’Alg\u00e9rie prosp\u00e9reront et continueront \u00e0 assurer la protection et la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des populations.\u00a0\u00bb Une vision partag\u00e9e qui s’appuie sur des relations qualifi\u00e9es par le commandant de l’AFRICOM comme \u00e9tant \u00ab\u00a0empreintes de respect mutuel et fond\u00e9es sur des int\u00e9r\u00eats communs en mati\u00e8re de stabilit\u00e9 et de s\u00e9curit\u00e9.\u00a0\u00bb Le g\u00e9n\u00e9ral Chengriha a \u00e9galement profit\u00e9 de cette rencontre pour adresser les f\u00e9licitations de l’Alg\u00e9rie au peuple am\u00e9ricain suite \u00e0 l’installation du 47e pr\u00e9sident des \u00c9tats-Unis, r\u00e9affirmant \u00ab\u00a0l’aspiration alg\u00e9rienne \u00e0 renforcer davantage les relations bilat\u00e9rales dans tous les domaines s\u00e9curitaires.\u00a0\u00bb Cette s\u00e9quence diplomatique et militaire confirme la consolidation d’un partenariat strat\u00e9gique entre Washington et Alger, particuli\u00e8rement crucial face aux d\u00e9fis s\u00e9curitaires croissants dans la r\u00e9gion sah\u00e9lienne. L’expertise alg\u00e9rienne en mati\u00e8re de lutte antiterroriste, combin\u00e9e \u00e0 ses capacit\u00e9s op\u00e9rationnelles et son engagement diplomatique, fait du pays un acteur incontournable dans les strat\u00e9gies de stabilisation r\u00e9gionale. Cette coop\u00e9ration renforc\u00e9e s’inscrit dans une vision strat\u00e9gique partag\u00e9e face aux d\u00e9fis s\u00e9curitaires r\u00e9gionaux. L’Alg\u00e9rie s’impose comme un acteur incontournable dans la stabilisation du Sahel, combinant expertise antiterroriste, capacit\u00e9s op\u00e9rationnelles et engagement diplomatique. Le succ\u00e8s de cette approche globale confirme la pertinence du choix am\u00e9ricain de consid\u00e9rer l’Alg\u00e9rie comme partenaire strat\u00e9gique majeur en Afrique.
