Cette \u00e9tape constitue la premi\u00e8re phase de mise en service de l\u2019installation et marque le lancement des essais techniques avant l\u2019acheminement des premi\u00e8res quantit\u00e9s d\u2019eau dessal\u00e9e vers le r\u00e9seau de distribution, selon un communiqu\u00e9 de l\u2019entreprise. Une fois pleinement op\u00e9rationnelle, cette station contribuera de mani\u00e8re significative \u00e0 renforcer l\u2019approvisionnement en eau potable des habitants de la r\u00e9gion. Avec une capacit\u00e9 de production de 300 000 m\u00e8tres cubes par jour, elle permettra de couvrir les besoins de pr\u00e8s de trois millions de personnes. Le projet est supervis\u00e9 par la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Alg\u00e9rienne de l&rsquo;\u00c9nergie, filiale du groupe Sonatrach, et sa r\u00e9alisation a \u00e9t\u00e9 confi\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019Entreprise Nationale des Canalisations, \u00e9galement filiale de Sonatrach. L\u2019installation de B\u00e9ja\u00efa s\u2019inscrit dans le cadre des projets strat\u00e9giques initi\u00e9s par le pr\u00e9sident de la R\u00e9publique, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, dans le cadre du programme compl\u00e9mentaire visant \u00e0 garantir la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 hydrique en Alg\u00e9rie. Ce programme pr\u00e9voit la construction de cinq grandes stations de dessalement d\u2019eau de mer, chacune dot\u00e9e d\u2019une capacit\u00e9 de production de 300 000 m\u00e8tres cubes par jour.
