Dans une tribune publi\u00e9e dans la presse, sous le titre \u00ab\u00a0La mal\u00e9diction des ressources et la lutte pour l&rsquo;autod\u00e9termination au Sahara occidental\u00a0\u00bb, M. Botes s&rsquo;est attard\u00e9 sur la lutte du peuple sahraoui et sur les privations qu&rsquo;il subit. \u00ab\u00a0Nous ne devons pas oublier ceux qui sont toujours priv\u00e9s de leurs droits fondamentaux au Sahara occidental, ceux qui luttent encore pour arracher leur droit \u00e0 l&rsquo;autod\u00e9termination, des d\u00e9cennies apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;ind\u00e9pendance d&rsquo;autres Etats en Afrique\u00a0\u00bb, a-t-il plaid\u00e9. Selon lui, le fait que le territoire sahraoui rec\u00e8le des minerais et des richesses halieutiques importantes explique largement l&rsquo;occupation du Sahara occidental par le Maroc. Il a not\u00e9, \u00e0 titre d&rsquo;exemple, que la mine de phosphate de Boucra\u00e2 (au Sahara occidental) tout particuli\u00e8rement, est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e par le Makhzen comme l&rsquo;un des piliers de son \u00e9conomie. La possibilit\u00e9 de d\u00e9couvrir du p\u00e9trole et du gaz, en offshore au Sahara occidental, a \u00e9galement attis\u00e9 les convoitises du Maroc, ajoute le responsable politique. En occupant le Sahara occidental, le Maroc \u00ab\u00a0r\u00eave\u00a0\u00bb d&rsquo;une vaste zone \u00e9conomique susceptible de g\u00e9n\u00e9rer des richesses \u00e0 travers des contrats juteux et l&rsquo;imposition de taxes, assure-t-il encore. L&rsquo;auteur de la tribune attire l&rsquo;attention sur le fait que la \u00ab\u00a0mal\u00e9diction\u00a0\u00bb des ressources naturelles ouvrait aussi la voie aux violations et aux atteintes aux droits humains, rappelant les crimes commis par l&rsquo;entit\u00e9 sioniste qui convoite plus que jamais le littoral de Ghaza en raison de la d\u00e9couverte r\u00e9cente de gisements de gaz au large
