Lors de sa visite du chantier, M. Hachichi a soulign\u00e9 \u00e0 la presse l\u2019importance strat\u00e9gique de la production locale de cette substance, pr\u00e9cisant qu\u2019elle r\u00e9pondra aux besoins des unit\u00e9s de Sonatrach produisant de l\u2019essence. De plus, cela permettra \u00e0 Sonatrach de passer du statut d\u2019importateur \u00e0 celui d\u2019exportateur du MTBE, un additif utilis\u00e9 dans la production de l\u2019essence sans plomb. Il a \u00e9galement indiqu\u00e9 que les travaux avancent \u00e0 un rythme soutenu et que la livraison du projet est pr\u00e9vue d\u2019ici la fin de l\u2019ann\u00e9e en cours. De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, Miloud Amara, chef de d\u00e9partement D\u00e9veloppement de l\u2019activit\u00e9 raffinage et p\u00e9trochimie chez Sonatrach, a pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 que la capacit\u00e9 de production de cette unit\u00e9, dont les travaux ont d\u00e9marr\u00e9 en juin 2022, s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ve \u00e0 200.000 tonnes par an. Le complexe m\u00e9thanol et ses d\u00e9riv\u00e9s, situ\u00e9 \u00e9galement dans la zone industrielle d\u2019Arzew, est actuellement le seul en Alg\u00e9rie \u00e0 produire du m\u00e9thanol \u00e0 partir de gaz naturel. Le nouveau projet vise \u00e0 transformer environ 75 % du m\u00e9thanol produit dans ce complexe en MTBE, selon les explications fournies sur place. Le PDG de Sonatrach a \u00e9galement inspect\u00e9 la cha\u00eene 100 du complexe de liqu\u00e9faction du gaz naturel (GL1Z) \u00e0 Arzew, r\u00e9cemment remise en service apr\u00e8s r\u00e9novation. Il a soulign\u00e9 que cette remise en service apportera une plus grande flexibilit\u00e9 au processus de liqu\u00e9faction du gaz. M. Hachichi a ensuite visit\u00e9 la station de pompage d\u2019eau de mer du complexe GL2Z, utilis\u00e9e pour la lutte contre les incendies, le refroidissement des \u00e9changeurs et la production d\u2019eau distill\u00e9e. Cette station fait actuellement l\u2019objet de travaux de r\u00e9habilitation qui devraient s\u2019achever prochainement, selon les responsables. Il a cl\u00f4tur\u00e9 sa visite en inspectant les bras de chargement des navires, r\u00e9cemment renouvel\u00e9s.
