Fond\u00e9 en 1982 pour d\u00e9velopper une industrie pharmaceutique nationale sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans la production et la commercialisation de m\u00e9dicaments \u00e0 usage humain, Saidal demeure majoritairement contr\u00f4l\u00e9 par l&rsquo;\u00c9tat alg\u00e9rien qui d\u00e9tient 80% de son capital, les 20% restants \u00e9tant d\u00e9tenus par des investisseurs institutionnels et individuels depuis son introduction en bourse en 1999.
