Jeux olympiques Tokyo-2020<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des Jeux Olympiques \u00e0 huis-clos. C\u2019est la triste annonce qu\u2019a faite jeudi la ministre japonaise en charge des JO de Tokyo. Et ce n’est pas la premi\u00e8re fois que le pays est maudit avec les JO. Tokyo avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00fb annuler des Olympiades, c\u2019\u00e9tait en 1940 en raison de la seconde guerre mondiale. En 2020, avec le Covid le pays a pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9 les reporter d’un an plut\u00f4t que de les annuler, esp\u00e9rant que la crise serait pass\u00e9e en 2021. Malheureusement avec la propagation des variants du virus, le Japon a du resserrer la vis. Ce sont d’abord les touristes et spectateurs \u00e9trangers qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 interdits en mars dernier. En juin, les organisateurs ont instaur\u00e9 une jauge \u00e0 50% dans les enceintes sportives. Avant de finalement renoncer aux spectateurs pour les \u00e9preuves se d\u00e9roulant dans la r\u00e9gion de Tokyo. Et au-del\u00e0 de la d\u00e9ception d’assister \u00e0 la finale du 100 m\u00e8tres olympique dans un stade olympique totalement vide, le co\u00fbt financier pour l’organisation risque d’\u00eatre dramatique. Le premier choc concerne la billetterie. La vente de billets pour les \u00e9preuves (65 euros en moyenne la place) est une manne importante qui repr\u00e9sente aux alentours de 15-20% des recettes. Tokyo 2020 avait initialement pr\u00e9vu de vendre 8 millions de billets, puis 4,5 millions avec l’arriv\u00e9e du Covid en 2020. Avec la jauge \u00e0 50% d\u00e9cr\u00e9t\u00e9e en juin, l’organisation tablait encore sur 2,7 millions. Ce sera finalement quasiment aucun. Des \u00e9preuves en dehors de Tokyo pourront se d\u00e9rouler avec du public comme au v\u00e9lodrome de Shizuoka ou au stade de football de Sapporo. Mais elles ne repr\u00e9sentent qu’une part infime des spectateurs attendus initialement. L’organisation avait pr\u00e9vu d’engranger 680 millions d’euros de ventes de billets… A cela il faut ajouter la crainte de voir les sponsors de retirer. Une douzaine d’entreprises japonaises parmi lesquelles Canon et le g\u00e9ant de l\u2019agroalimentaire Ajinomoto ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 fait savoir qu\u2019elles annulaient des \u00e9v\u00e9nements promotionnels et qu\u2019elles fermaient leurs stands sur les lieux des \u00e9preuves. Un coup dur alors m\u00eame que les JO de Tokyo avaient battu un record en sponsoring. 60 entreprises locales avaient vers\u00e9 plus de 2,5 milliards d’euros pour parrainer les Jeux (Canon, Fujitsu, Asics\u2026). Un record. Tokyo avait battu le pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent record de Londres qui avait engrang\u00e9 aux alentours de 1 milliard aupr\u00e8s d’entreprises locales. Des sponsors qui avaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00fb remettre 165 millions au pot avec le report d\u2019un an et qui craignent d\u00e9sormais d’avoir investis ces sommes \u00e0 fonds perdues avec ces jeux sans touristes et sans spectateurs. Un d\u00e9sastre financier \u00e0 la hauteur du co\u00fbt faramineux de Tokyo 2020. Ces JO sont d’ores et d\u00e9j\u00e0 les jeux d’\u00e9t\u00e9 les plus chers de l’Histoire. Ils devaient initialement co\u00fbter 13 milliards de dollars. Le retard d\u2019un an a entra\u00een\u00e9 un surco\u00fbt de 2,5 milliards. Au total le co\u00fbt total est estim\u00e9 \u00e0 15,5 milliards de dollars. Plus cher que Londres 2012 (15 milliards de dollars), Barcelone 1992 (9,7 milliards de dollars) ou P\u00e9kin (6,8 milliards de dollars) selon les estimations de la Said Business School de l’Universit\u00e9 d’Oxford. Et il reste des inconnues: les cha\u00eenes vont-elles ren\u00e9gocier les droits t\u00e9l\u00e9 \u00e0 la baisse ? Les sponsors vont-ils demander \u00e0 \u00eatre partiellement rembourser ? Tokyo 2020 n\u2019est peut-\u00eatre pas au bout de ses peines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
