Soixante-seize minutes pour raconter ce que les livres d’histoire r\u00e9sument en quelques lignes. Lundi apr\u00e8s-midi, le th\u00e9\u00e2tre r\u00e9gional Azzedine Medjoubi d’Annaba a accueilli l’avant-premi\u00e8re de Hadda<\/em>, un long-m\u00e9trage sign\u00e9 Ahmed Riad qui met en sc\u00e8ne une infirmi\u00e8re engag\u00e9e dans la guerre de lib\u00e9ration nationale. Une projection attendue, dans le cadre d’un 6\u00e8me Festival du film m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en (24-30 avril) qui confirme, \u00e9dition apr\u00e8s \u00e9dition, sa place dans le calendrier cin\u00e9matographique de la rive sud. Le film suit le parcours de Hadda, Moudjahida soignante dont l’histoire incarne, selon le r\u00e9alisateur, \u00ab l’h\u00e9ro\u00efsme de la femme alg\u00e9rienne durant la glorieuse R\u00e9volution \u00bb. Le r\u00f4le est tenu par Lydia Larini, actrice alg\u00e9rienne dont la pr\u00e9sence \u00e0 l’\u00e9cran portait lundi soir le poids d’un personnage construit sur le sacrifice et l’engagement. Ahmed Riad, qui signe ici son deuxi\u00e8me long-m\u00e9trage, a confi\u00e9 que cette \u0153uvre \u00ab ambitionne de contribuer \u00e0 la pr\u00e9servation de la m\u00e9moire nationale \u00bb. Une ambition que le cin\u00e9ma alg\u00e9rien porte souvent, pas toujours avec bonheur \u2014 mais qui, dans le cadre d’un festival \u00e0 vocation m\u00e9diterran\u00e9enne, prend un relief particulier : raconter sa propre histoire devant des regards venus d’ailleurs oblige \u00e0 une certaine exigence narrative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le festival, lui, ne se r\u00e9duit pas \u00e0 cette seule avant-premi\u00e8re. Quatorze films documentaires sont en lice dans leur cat\u00e9gorie, soumis au verdict d’un jury international r\u00e9uni autour de l’Italien Paolo Sodi, directeur de la photographie qui en assure la pr\u00e9sidence. Deux autres regards compl\u00e8tent l’\u00e9quipe : la productrice espagnole Sara Mansanet Royo et l’ing\u00e9nieur du son alg\u00e9rien Kamel Mekser. Un trio qui couvre \u00e0 lui seul trois m\u00e9tiers fondamentaux du cin\u00e9ma, ce qui n’est pas sans signification pour un festival qui revendique l’attention port\u00e9e \u00e0 la fabrication des films autant qu’\u00e0 leur r\u00e9ception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En marge de la comp\u00e9tition, les s\u00e9ances Classic screening<\/em> offrent un autre plaisir, plus contemplatif. Bab El Hadid<\/em> et Retour de l’enfant prodigue<\/em>, deux \u0153uvres du r\u00e9alisateur \u00e9gyptien Youcef Chahine, disparu en 2008, y sont projet\u00e9es. Revoir Chahine \u00e0 Annaba, c’est rappeler ce que la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e a produit de plus singulier en mati\u00e8re de cin\u00e9ma : une mani\u00e8re de filmer les foules, les corps, les villes en crise, avec une \u00e9nergie formelle que beaucoup ont imit\u00e9 sans jamais vraiment \u00e9galer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La soir\u00e9e de dimanche avait donn\u00e9 le ton avec une s\u00e9lection de courts-m\u00e9trages qui disait quelque chose de l’\u00e9tat du cin\u00e9ma m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en contemporain. Du c\u00f4t\u00e9 alg\u00e9rien, La gu\u00e9rison<\/em> de Sirine Ascir et Le reflet : ceux qui restent<\/em> de Borhane Cherbal. Du c\u00f4t\u00e9 de la Palestine, Je sais que tu peux m’entendre<\/em> et El Qaher<\/em>, deux titres dont les seuls intitul\u00e9s suffisent \u00e0 situer le propos. La Slov\u00e9nie, la Gr\u00e8ce, le Liban, l’Italie, l’\u00c9gypte, l’Espagne et la Turquie compl\u00e9taient ce tour de bassin m\u00e9diterran\u00e9en en format court. Autant de mani\u00e8res diff\u00e9rentes de cadrer un visage, une rue, un silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
