Du 19 juin au 17 juillet 2027, le Kenya, la Tanzanie et l’Ouganda accueilleront conjointement la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations, une premi\u00e8re historique dans l’organisation du football continental africain. La Conf\u00e9d\u00e9ration africaine de football (CAF) a officiellement d\u00e9voil\u00e9 samedi 2 mai, depuis Le Caire, le calendrier complet de la CAN 2027. Baptis\u00e9e \u00ab CAN PAMOJA 2027 \u00bb \u2014 pamoja<\/em> signifiant \u00ab ensemble \u00bb en swahili \u2014 cette \u00e9dition in\u00e9dite s’annonce comme un tournant majeur pour le football africain, avec un tournoi co-organis\u00e9 pour la toute premi\u00e8re fois de son histoire par trois nations simultan\u00e9ment. La phase finale s’\u00e9tendra du 19 juin au 17 juillet 2027, soit 29 jours de comp\u00e9tition \u00e0 travers les trois pays d’Afrique de l’Est. L’instance dirigeante du football africain a confirm\u00e9 les dates du match d’ouverture et de la finale, mais a pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 que les pays h\u00f4tes de ces deux rendez-vous symboliques seraient d\u00e9sign\u00e9s ult\u00e9rieurement. Une annonce tr\u00e8s attendue, qui attisera sans nul doute les rivalit\u00e9s diplomatiques et sportives entre Nairobi, Dar es-Salaam et Kampala, chacune ambitionnant naturellement d’accueillir l’une ou l’autre de ces vitrines continentales. Au-del\u00e0 de l’aspect organisationnel, la CAF mise sur un impact populaire consid\u00e9rable. Selon l’instance continentale, cette comp\u00e9tition devrait toucher plus de 400 millions de personnes dans la r\u00e9gion, port\u00e9e par une dynamique d\u00e9mographique et footballistique en plein essor en Afrique orientale. L’\u00e9v\u00e9nement marque \u00e9galement le grand retour de la CAN dans cette partie du continent, cinquante et un ans apr\u00e8s l’\u00e9dition 1976 disput\u00e9e en \u00c9thiopie. Un retour aux sources, charg\u00e9 d’histoire et de symboles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sur le plan sportif, la route vers la phase finale commencera bien avant l’\u00e9t\u00e9 2027. Le tirage au sort des \u00e9liminatoires est programm\u00e9 le 19 mai 2026, et mettra aux prises 48 s\u00e9lections africaines, dont les trois nations organisatrices automatiquement qualifi\u00e9es. Ces \u00e9quipes seront r\u00e9parties en douze groupes de quatre, et les deux premiers de chaque poule valideront leur billet pour la phase finale. Un format qui garantit \u00e0 la fois l’\u00e9quit\u00e9 sportive et l’intensit\u00e9 des matchs \u00e0 enjeu, chaque point comptant double dans des groupes serr\u00e9s. Le calendrier des qualifications s’articulera autour de trois fen\u00eatres internationales FIFA. La premi\u00e8re, du 21 septembre au 6 octobre 2026, accueillera les premi\u00e8re et deuxi\u00e8me journ\u00e9es de groupes. Viendront ensuite les troisi\u00e8me et quatri\u00e8me journ\u00e9es lors de la fen\u00eatre de novembre, entre le 9 et le 17, avant que les deux ultimes journ\u00e9es d\u00e9cisives ne se tiennent du 22 au 30 mars 2027. Trois rendez-vous cruciaux qui laisseront peu de place \u00e0 l’erreur pour les nations en qu\u00eate d’une qualification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette \u00e9dition pr\u00e9sente par ailleurs une autre particularit\u00e9 : la CAN retrouve son calendrier estival, une formule abandonn\u00e9e depuis l’\u00e9dition 2019 organis\u00e9e en \u00c9gypte et remport\u00e9e brillamment par l’Alg\u00e9rie. Ce retour en \u00e9t\u00e9 repr\u00e9sente un changement significatif pour les clubs europ\u00e9ens, qui avaient fini par s’accommoder du format hivernal impos\u00e9 depuis l’\u00e9dition 2013, mais qui devront de nouveau composer sans plusieurs de leurs joueurs africains en plein c\u0153ur de leur pr\u00e9paration estivale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
