La demande est venue du pr\u00e9sident \u00e9gyptien Abdel Fattah al-Sissi qui a r\u00e9pondu aux sollicitations de Ryad. L&rsquo;Arabie saoudite, partenaire politique et financier majeur du Caire, tente de ralentir l&rsquo;avanc\u00e9e de la milice houthiste, alli\u00e9e de l&rsquo;Iran, vers le d\u00e9troit strat\u00e9gique de Bab el-Mandeb \u2014 donnant acc\u00e8s au canal de Suez, en \u00c9gypte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abdel Fattah al-Sissi a pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 mercredi dernier dans une lettre adress\u00e9e au prince h\u00e9ritier saoudien Mohammed ben Salmane, que l&rsquo;aide \u00e9gyptienne se limiterait \u00e0 la d\u00e9fense du territoire et des fronti\u00e8res de l&rsquo;Arabie Saoudite, sans engagement offensif au Y\u00e9men. L&rsquo;\u00c9gypte a rejoint la coalition dirig\u00e9e par Ryad en mars 2015, mais elle ne s&rsquo;est pas engag\u00e9e publiquement dans des combats directs.
